All little ones get energized for their birthday. There is the enjoyment of going to college to celebrate and then it proceeds with a get together at residence with offers to open up.

This was no unique for Aleena Smith, who just lately turned six a long time old.

Aleena, the daughter of Bill Smith and Shawna Vore of Dundee, was just like any other child on her birthday. The slender, blue-eyed, blonde-haired little female with a sweet smile could not hold out to get her day started.

But if you are a stranger, like myself, and arrived at the family home, Aleena likes to put on a ball cap.

“She feels most at ease with her head lined close to persons who are not our close spouse and children and friends,” Shawna reported.

Aleena Smith, 6, was all smiles at Dundee Elementary as she wore a birthday crown given to her by teacher Leah Erickson, who placed it on the youngster's head in Young Fives class. For more photos of Allena, see page A8.

Aleena begun to drop her hair final November this earlier January was diagnosed with alopecia, an autoimmune condition that leads to hair to tumble out.

“Since then, we have fantastic days and bad types,” Shawna stated. “Aleena from time to time feels bad and says, `Why did God make me this way?’ ”

“I check out to remain good,” Shawna additional. “Aleena tells me, ‘I just want to be a usual child.’ ”
